I have noticed over the last year that my red piggy Hazel's skin is getting darker. She used to have pink skin with a few black spots on her belly. The skin on her face, ears, and shoulders seems to be turning dark. It's really weird. Now they both go outside several times a day but my yard is fairly shaded so I've considered that she might simply be getting a tan. I will ask my vet but in the meantime, has anyone else experienced this or heard of this? Thanks!

My little guy, "Joey" has gotten a lot darker the older he gets too. He was quite pink with black spots when he was only a couple months old. He is now close to a year old and is grey and black. It looks like he has permanent dirty face and ears! lol I think it's normal for them to sometimes change the older they get. Let us know what your vet says though.

Einstein is about 1.5 years old, and in June he shed all his long hair. I looked up information and found out that some pigs shed like this 2X a year, lucky me... Now his coat is very short like a military hair cut, but I do see it coming back in, less full on his black spots. He too is turning more grey from his younger white coat.
